Ingreso hopes to bring Azkals spirit in Ceres campaign

Kevin Ingreso takes pride when he represents the Philippines with Ceres-Negros in the AFC Cup and the Azkals for national play.

The ace midfielder played the most challenging game in a Philippine shirt last month in the last AFC Asian Cup qualifying match against Tajikistan at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

He was in the thick of the action when he conceded a penalty in the match before he scored the most important equalizer which brought the country to the Asian Cup.

“I think its such an honor for everyone just to represent that country and to have played that game,” said the star midfielder.”It was a roller coaster ride for all of us. It was a tough game and we managed to win it at the end. I think everyone can still cant believe what we achieved for the Philippines,” Ingreso added.

With qualification secured for next year’s continental competition, Ingreso and the rest of his national team players in Ceres will now set their focus on the completion of their group stage representing the Philippines in the AFC Cup.

When asked of they can think that they can bring the same spirit in from national team to the club, the Ceres midfielder agreed without hesitation.

“Yeah definitely. We just have to work had and treat every game with importance. We also kinda have forget about what we have done with the national team to get our focus back and try to win our games with Ceres,” said Ingreso.

Ingreso and company will have that chance Wednesday night when they play Boeung Ket FC in Match Day 5 of the AFC Cup. A win can bring the busmen within arms length of qualification to the knockout stages.

“The game against Beoung Ket is very important. I hope we can get a good result as it will bring us closer to the next round,” said the star midfielder.
