Ingreso looks forward to AFF Suzuki Cup opener in Panaad

Philippines and Ceres-Negros midfielder Kevin Ingreso is looking forward to the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup where he and the rest of the Azkals will feature in their opening match in the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod on November 13.

“We are all excited to play the Suzuki Cup,” said the Ceres star after the AFF Cup trophy tour last October 27 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. “I think we have a very strong squad so we can go further than we did two years ago.”

The Azkals missed to reach the semifinals in 2016 after only finishing third in a group which featured the finalists in Thailand and Indonesia.

Ingreso is coming in fresh to the tournament after recovering from a minor operation in late August which left him and many injured national players from Ceres off from the line-up in the PFL Cup.

The star midfielder is also hoping for a good turnout when they face Singapore and Thailand in his favored home stadium.

“I hope a lot of people are coming to the games. I hope they will support us like they do when we play with Ceres over there,” he added.

The Azkals will play Singapore on November 13 at home before flying to Kuala Lumpur to play against Timor Leste. They will return for the the home leg against Thailand on the 21st and will complete their assignment away to Indonesia on the 25th.
