Coach Risto Vidakovic isn’t leaving anything to chance Wednesday night, as his Ceres-Negros squad is set to face one of the regions biggest clubs in Persija Jakarta.
Though his club is on top with six points, the Spanish-Serbian mentor is still wary of the tough challenges ahead in this crucial phase of the competition.
“We’re on the top, but still with four games ahead, and each one is very important,” said the Ceres mentor. “We have three very important games in front of us and we are playing against top teams.”
“Tomorrow is a big game against one of the biggest clubs in Southeast Asia so its very important to get points for the team. Im sure both teams will fight to win the game. Everyone is expecting a very hard game tomorrow,” he added.
Ceres-Negros will play against no less than Indonesia’s most popular club in Persija Jakarta, a club which has been in existence for almost a century. Vidakovic knows that the visitors are keen to scalp a full three points to take the lead in the ASEAN zone’s group of death.
“This is a hard opponent,” said the former Betis man. “They are fighting to be on top so we are fighting also.”
Festivities are set to start at 7PM in Panaad with the match shown live locally over 5PLUS and internationally via Fox Sports (1). Livestream to be available at the ESPN5 YouTube channel.
