Barbaso to bring vaunted work ethic to the busmen

Jerry Barbaso is not your ordinary defender. Outside his long curly locks and positive demeanor, the league veteran is known for his unassailable work ethic on the pitch.

When asked about what he can contribute on the onset, the defender was quick to answer similar to his lightning quick runs on the pitch. “Hard work. It’s all I can say,” said Barbaso.

His move from Global came as a surprise to many, after being with the club for a very long time, but the former national player is looking forward to the test that lies ahead.

“Of course its very challenging to move here because all the players are quality,” said the longtime wingback. “I hope I can contribute something to the team. I would like to thank Ceres-Negros FC for the opportunity,” he added.

Barbaso’s experience, after playing his third consecutive AFC Cup Group stage this year will, be valuable for the busmen especially in the knockout stages.

When asked if he was gonna fight for a spot on the first eleven, the Dipolog native grinned from ear-to-ear when he gave his response.

“Of course, I’m not here just to sit in the bench. To play in the starting lineup, I will fight for it,” Barbaso added.
