OJ Porteria has come up big in his last two matches against Kaya-Iloilo.
The current National player has scored in the last two meetings against his former team and has been adjudged the Man of the match in their last victory.
“I’m just very proud of the team,” said the Ceres-Negros player who had an opening assist and a goal in their 2-0 win last September 18. “We knew that Kaya was gonna give everything today and we had to come with the same mentality.”
Up nine points on top of the standings, the busmen seems to have enough cushion against the nearest opponent but Porteria thinks differently from what the table suggests.
“We don’t feel like we won the league already because we have seven games left. Now our task is to win every single game that we have coming up,” he added.
Porteria and Ceres-Negros will have that chance to get closer to an unprecedented third straight title when they face Stallion Laguna on September 22 and Mendiola FC on September 28.
