Bienvenido Marañon and Ceres-Negros FC are currently on top of the table but the hot shooting forward knows that in anything can happen if you don’t focus on the next match in the Philippines Football League.
“We always look game by game,” said the current PFL topscorer who will face the Philippine Air Force Saturday. “We are not preparing for the games one month ahead but we take it step-by-step.”
With Kaya trimming the lead during the international break to three points, Marañon knows that nothing short of a victory agaisnt the Airmen is needed to maintain the gap against the number two side.
“Now we have to beat Air Force because the last time was very difficult,” said the former Cadiz man was hit with plenty of bad challenges.
“I hope this time the referee stops the very bad tackles from them and then we will see how are the players after the match so we can move on to the next match,” Marañon added.
Marañon believes that the team can continue its unbeaten ways with the right mindset every game.
“If the team is focused up to now, there is no problem to beat everybody. We have to keep this mind and make a big effort game-by-game.”
Ceres-Negros battles Philippine Air Force on Saturday, September 14 in Lipa and will face Kaya in midweek action in Biñan on Wednesday September 18.
