Ceres-La Salle FC produced a masterclass performance with a 16-0 route of Pasargad FC last June 11 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.  Adrian Gallardo topscored with 8 goals followed by Stephan Shrock’s hat-trick, braces for Carli de Murga and Patrick Reichelt, and one for Juani Guirado who announced his retirement from Club football on the same day.

The Spanish striker broke the deadlock in the 7th minute after beating the defense and slotting home the ball in the bottom corner. Shrock doubled the advantage 7 minutes later after a strike from the edge of the box. Reichelt would join the scoring just before the half-hour mark to make it 3-0.

Gallardo and Reichelt both got their second in the 30th and 31st minute with Reichelt scoring an inch perfect goal to the far post. De Murga made it six after rebound off an initial strike that hit the Pasargad keepers head. Shrock would close out the half with the goal in the 44th to make it 7-0.

The busmen have been playing with renewed energy and unselfishness and it continued into the second half. Gallardo scored four straight goals making it 11-0 in the 66th minute. De murga would add his second in the 75th minute after a rebound off a Bienve Maranon strike.

Guirado, who was playing his last game for Ceres, scored another classic header nodding back a ball from Shrock to cap off his club career. Shrock would score his hat trick in the 82nd while Gallardo closed out the game with two more goals achieving the biggest winning margin in the league so far.

“I don’t know what to say with the match but definitely we needed goals. We don’t want to have an end score like this but we cannot do anything. The race now is a little bit tight so the end of the day we need the goal difference,” said Ceres Coach Ali Go.

“I think that’s a good sign for us and we needed some goals for confidence boost for some players also, so I think it was a good game for us,” he added.

The Busmen will now prepare for their midweek clash with Forza on June 15 before facing upstart JP Voltes on June 18.
