The Asian Football Confederation awarded Ceres-Negros FC the Zonal Champions plaque for the ASEAN Zone of the 2017 AFC Cup. The award was given by AFC Competitions Director Shin Mangil and received by club officials Warren Concepcion, Patrick Ace Bright, and James Dinsay during the AFC Workshop in Kuala Lumpur.
Ceres-Negros topped Group G which featured the likes of Hanoi FC, Felda United, and Tampines Rovers. The Filipino club knocked out for AFC Cup winners Johor Darul Ta’zim in the zonal semis before beating Home United in the final.
The award is deemed the biggest achievement of the club in its young history.
