Ceres-Negros FC continues its quest for the 2019 PFL title when it battles Stallion Laguna on September 22 at the Binan Football Stadium in Laguna. The Busmen who are just a few wins away from a third consecutive title may inch closer if it pulls of a win away in Binan.
The Negros squad banked on a first half blitz to outclass Stallion Laguna 5-0 in their last meeting last August 14 at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas. Bienvenido Maranon topscored with a brace while Mike Ott, Carlie De Murga, and Robert Lopez Mendy added one goal apiece.
The Laguna representatives will look to bounce back against the squad that they forced to an opening draw last May 25 at the Rizal Stadium where the defending champs were forced to claw back twice to settle for a 2-2 result.
Coach Risto Vidakovic knows that the league is not yet done until the busmen win four of the remaining seven games of the season.
“It’s still to early to talk about the title. We’re going game by game. We beat our direct opponent for the title and its very very important but we need to continue as we have seven games more. We have to win four games to be sure that we are champions again,” said the Serbian Spanish mentor.
Kickoff is set at 330pm with the stream shown live over pfltv.ph.
