Three players in Jorrel Aristorenas, Luke Woodland, and Omid Nazari are the latest signings for Ceres-Negros FC in the first quarter of 2017. Aristorenas and Woodland were signed early in the year with Nazari completing his move to the Bacolod squad late this month.
Aristorenas moved to the Busmen after his stint with Loyola Meralco for the last three years which saw him win the latest PFF National Club Championship and feature in the National Under 23 squad last 2015. The 23-year old is an attacking player who prefers to play in the midfield and is known as a provider from the middle of the park
Luke comes in from England after a brief stay in York City. The current Azkals player has played for England in the youth level after going through the youth levels for his boyhood club Bolton Wanderers. He featured for the Azkals in 2015 at the young age of 19 and was a steady presence in the 2018 World Cup Qualifying campaign. Now at 21, the dynamic player can play either defensive midfield or center back for his squad.
Omid was born in Malmo in Sweden to an Iranian father and a Filipina mother. The striker played in the youth teams of Malmo FF before breaking into the first team. Nazari then continued in other teams in Sweden before moving to Global FC in 2016 where he contributed in the team’s double win in the United Football League. The Filipino-Iranian also featured in the Iran National team, playing friendlies for the Asian powerhouse.
Both Aristorenas and Woodland are featured in the Group Stage of the 2017 AFC Cup while Nazari will be included once the team qualifies for the next round. The three players are tagged to be key contributors in Ceres’ quest for silverware this season.
